How we protect the children and young people entrusted to our care.
At iLearn Spaces, the safety and well-being of every child are our non-negotiable priorities. We acknowledge our duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and are committed to ensuring our safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance, and the Child Rights Act of Nigeria (2003).
Every mentor, staff member, and volunteer at iLearn Spaces undergoes a rigorous background check and verification process before working with children.
All staff receive mandatory Safeguarding Training upon hiring and attend refresher courses annually. They are trained to recognize signs of abuse and neglect and know exactly how to report concerns.
A strict "Two-Adult Rule" is enforced. No staff member is permitted to be alone with a child in a closed, unobservable room.
Content Filtering: All devices on the iLearn Spaces network are protected by content filters that block inappropriate, adult, or violent material.
Moderated Interactions: During online sessions or "Game Dev Club" chats, all interactions are monitored by moderators. Bullying, hate speech, or sharing of personal identifiable information is strictly prohibited.
If you have a concern about a child’s safety or the behavior of a staff member, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) immediately.
